Sofia, October 3, 2025 — At the official launch of the “Domino” 2 program on October 2, 2025, representatives of EDIH-NWACB – European Digital Innovation Hub Northwest, along with officials from the Ministry of Education and Science, Swiss partners, and leading experts in vocational education and training were present.
The “Domino” 2 program aims to stimulate active participation of educational institutions, employers, and students in the dual training system. Minister Krasimir Vylchev emphasized that the advantages of learning through work are indisputable and that the program will bring both direct and indirect benefits to the development of vocational education in the country.
Special attention in the event was given to the active involvement of business and the introduction of new models and best practices in the dual system through support from three Swiss organizations. The program also plans scientific research, quality tools, as well as career guidance and promotion of vocational education among young people.
Velychka Kaneva, representing EDIH-NWACB from the Automotive Cluster Bulgaria, underscored that familiarizing with international models and best practices will support the hub’s efforts. EDIH-NWACB provides support for digitization and technological modernization of businesses, facilitating the implementation of innovations and modern technologies in the automotive industry.
An additional value of the event lies in the fact that the “Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse is a partner in the EDIH project, which creates the opportunity for knowledge exchange between universities and industry.
Among the event’s guests were Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Emilia Lazarova, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy Natalia Efremova, representatives of employers’ organizations, bilateral chambers of commerce, academia, the civic sector, and directors of vocational schools.
